- Do you treat all ages?
- Our youngest patient is two. The oldest is 100. How’s that for “all ages?”

- We’ve moved toward digital radiographs (digital X-rays) that provide instant images with 90% less radiation and no chemicals. Our ultimate goal is a paperless office.
- Can I get a crown in one visit?
- Yes. Veneers, too. With our CEREC® CAD/CAM system, we can make crowns, veneers, and other enhancements right in our on-site lab. No need to send them “out” and make you return for a second visit.
- Are your sealants harmful?”
- Absolutely not. There are concerns regarding the safety of dental sealants used to fill the deep grooves in some teeth in children. The concern is over Bisphenol A (BPA) which has been linked to the disruption of endocrine function. Nicosia Dental has never used a sealant containing BPA.
- How many years have you been in business?
- The senior Dr. Nicosia started the business in 1954 and practiced for more than 40 years. Many of his patients and their families remain with his son, Dr. Nicholas Nicosia, who took over the practice in 1990.

- Dr. Nicosia is the team dentist for a number of hockey, lacrosse, and athletic programs in the area.

- Why don’t you advertise more?”
- Dr. We are primarily a referral-based practice. Our best patients are referred by our best patients. When we do advertise, it’s usually to support a good cause, organization, or fundraiser.
- Will you have a special every month?
- Yes, our plan is to offer a special or a giveaway every month. Example: For the month of June — the big wedding month — we whiten the teeth of both the future bride and groom for one price.
- Who is the main partner?”
- That would be Nicholas E. Nicosia DDS PLLC. He represents the second generation of the Nicosia family to carry on the practice.
- Is Dr. Nicosia the only dentist?
- He is joined by Jennifer Lim Kopacz DDS, who’s been with the practice since 2009. In addition there are three dental hygienists, two dental assistants, an office manager, and one office coordinator — nine associates in all.
- Is Nicosia Dental considered a modern dental practice?”
- Absolutely. In fact, the office features the latest dental technology in several areas including crowns, veneers, X-rays (now digital), teeth cleaning/polishing using air, and laser treatments for soft tissue areas.
- Dr. Nicosia seems like a fun person. Is he?
- Yes, he’s rather spirited. But the doctor is very serious when it comes to providing the best dental care he and his staff possibly can. He can’t fish, though.

- Many athletic dental injuries can, in fact, be prevented. That’s why we strongly recommend and make custom-fitted athletic mouth guards. Never, ever play a sport without one.
- What if I dont know what procedure to have done?
- At Nicosia Dental, we believe that a dental decision is ultimately the patient’s. However, we will provide as much guidance — and answer as many questions — as needed so you can make a confident decision.
- I’ve heard that Nicosia Dental is active in the community. True?
- It certainly is. Some of the community associations that Nicosia Dental supports are the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Foodlink, Highland Hospital, and Habitat for Humanity.
